Documentation of the following is required before beginning Phase 1:
- Driving record with no more then 6 pts on your record
- No felony convictions
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Copy of your Driver license
Phase 1
45 Hours, Equivalent to 3 college credit hours
17 hours – Direct classroom instruction from a certified instructor.
12 hours – Independent study on specified topics to be completed outside of the classroom.
16 hours – 8 (2 hour) sessions observing in a classroom to become familiar with the curriculum of driver education.
Phase 2
45 Hours, Equivalent to 3 college credit hours
8 hours – Direct classroom instruction from a certified instructor.
12 hours – Observation of certified instructor in a car. in the Back seat of car
14 hours – Teaching in a car with a certified instructor who is observing and critiquing the trainee. (Front Seat)
4 hours – discussing routes an in-car problems
7 hours - Independent study.
